How To Spray Paint Lamps Gold Tutorial

Hello out there in the blogging world. I have been doing so many projects that I haven't had much type to blog. A couple weeks ago I stumbled on these amazing gold lamps at faith farm while looking for some night stands that I wanted to paint for my room redo.I originally was going to keep them the shiny gold that they were, but once I had them home they were to worn out looking so I decided to spray paint them. I then went on the hunt for some affordable black lamp shades which I found at Walmart.com for $5. Voila beautiful new lamps. Did I mention that I got them for $4.50 each.
So lets go through step by step of what I did to achieve this look. I ended up spray painting a desk lamp that we had in our garage gold too!!

Here is the before and after

Things you will need
Sanding sponge
Wet and dry rag
Metallic gold spray paint rustoleum specialty metallic in gold
Painters tape
Drape or sheet
Black lamp shades mine are from Walmart $5 each

First step sand the lamps down a little then wipe clean with wet rag and dry with dry rag. I didn't take any pictures of this step sorry!

Tape cord, top part of lamps, and base with painters tape.

Then put them on your sheet and start spray painting. I always go side to side motions and do that all the way around the lamp. Let dry 15 mins and repeat 3 more times. Then I lay them down and spray any missed parts. Let dry completely overnight before putting bulb and lampshade on. Here are pictures after first coat.

Here is finished product

Thank you for visiting.
God bless,
Lea
