Around the house do it yourself projects

This week I was being a bit of a hermit crab so I decided to tackle some house projects. I started with our patio but didn't take any pictures because our furniture is a bit dirty. Then I moved onto our living room and then my desk area. All of this was done is one day!! Super mom!
I needed more space for pictures in my living room. I saw this shelf on a blog and wanted to paint it gold, but since our living room is orange, I just left it brown. I was already in the process of moving our living room around. So I just added the shelf and rearranged all the pictures and accessories. The back of our living room is my girls school stations so don't mind the mess. We still have to hang our big pictures back up. I will post a complete before and after.

Here is the before.

Here is the after.

These iron garden thing a mabobs (I'm having a brain fart on the name of these) were from our outdoor wedding ceremony I bought them at Home depot for $25 each.

Bookcase from Ikea $79 exact here

Here are the pictures of my desk shelves I made from Ikea.
I started with the natural wood Ekby Valter Wall Mounts link here: exact here. The 2 shelves cost me $45 with can of spray paint.
Ekby Hemnes White wood shelf here exact here

The decor and picture frames are from Home Goods and Marshall's.

Here is an update on the desk decor. I love being surrounded by pictures of my family and the many letters my daughters write to me so this big pin board was a must. I researched for about 2 months and found a lot of similar ones from $50-$80. I couldn't afford that so I was going to make my own and then I went into Home Goods last week and they had a bunch of these. I purchased it  for $24.

And last project was an old table that has been in my family for a long time. I sanded it down, fixed some dog bite spots and glued the loose legs together. Then painted it with this special wood paint and here it is refurbished.. I really liked the original color but since our furniture is dark decided to paint it to match. It came out a bit of a chocolate brown not a dark brown  I'm thinking of redoing it later on but for now its going to stay this way!!!
