Room update

So here is a look at our room decor!! We moved into our house over 3 years ago and it took over a month to fix up the house. So finally, after a whopping 3 years, we are finally decorating our lovely room. There is still much more to be done but at least we started. I especially love the clothes rack and corner hanging rod it allows me to organize and keep my outfits out and hanging in a safe place.

  • White picture frames are from Ikea and Target
  • White picture ledges from Ikea
  • Corner hanging bar (hubby cut to make it fit)from cb2.com
  • All picture boxes were from Marshall's
  • Gold picture frames from Marshall's
  • Silk flowers from Marshall's
  • White tray on dresser from Marshall's
  • Clothing rack from Ikea
  • Curtains and curtain rod from Marshall's
  • Purple chair is very old and was a gift
  • Wood table is very old and was a gift
  • Ny teddy bear was given to me by my youngest daughter.
  • The letter in the picture frame was a letter my hubby wrote at our engagement encounter. I framed it because it was a very heart felt letter and sealed the deal on knowing this is the man I can't live without and wanted to marry
  • Our bedroom set was purchased at rooms to go over 5 years ago
Hope you enjoyed this post and I will upload more when its completed with before and afters.
God bless,
Lea

Since the last post I had to purchase a storage cabinet from Ikea which i thought would fit next to chair I eyeballed it but it would,t fit so we had to take the purple chair out and here's some pics of the room so far.
I purchased this cabinet in white because I love the contrast to our wall color. This has all my sweaters, my favorite fall booties, my clutches and small purses.
Right now we don't have the money to get the dressing table I want for makeup and to use as a desk. So I'm using this table which has been in our family for years. The fur jacket was my very first piece of  bebe clothing I ever purchased. It was $99 10 years ago. I keep it as a reminder of my struggle and to keep me grounded and realize how blessed I truly am. I was a struggling single mother back then who struggled to make ends meet. This jacket was my first present to myself.
The clothing rack holds my long sleeve shirts, jackets, blazers, cardigans and some of my favorite big purses. I hung my infinity scarves on one side and then my regular scarves on the other end. The corner rod holds my next weeks outfit pieces and any new pieces I buy.
The ottoman holds all our extra pillows and serves as a seat and storage. I sit here to do my blog updates.

It isn't exactly what I wanted it to be but it still serves it's purpose.

I had to rearrange the layout of the room, because I needed some more counter space for computers, charging phones, and paperwork. The little table was not giving me the counter space I needed so this is what I came up with. I miss my chair and the table. It's just this way works better right now for me. In the future I plan on getting a smaller bed frame because ours is huge an takes up way too much space. Plus add a desk and shelves over desk.

The cabinet holds all my sweaters, cardigans, scarves, boots,  and clutches. Right now the clothes rack is holding my wardrobe basics and staple pieces with more cardigans and jackets. The bottom rack has my favorite bags, and all my sandals in the purple storage containers.

The pearl and mirror box was from home goods and was on sale for $25 from missing a drawer.

So here is yet another update made sin my last bedroom update. I decided to add an office area in my room and as I mentioned before it is fairly tiny and we have massive furniture. I managed to get hubby on board with selling our bed and getting just a pin tucked headboard. To give us more space. Once this is done I will do another update. I took out my nightstand and put in a table that we already had from Ikea. I then moved everything around so I could bring back my favorite comfy chair. This chair was given to me by my daughters grandmother. I decorated my desk using things I already had lying around the house. It is not finished as I am going to add shelves above the desk and later on get the malm desk or the original dressing table I wanted from Ikea instead of the table I'm using which will give me a little more floor space because this table is a bit large. I will be also updating the decor on the desk with acrylic and gold pieces once finances are good.

So here it is

God Bless,
Lea
