Small Closet Confessions A Look Inside Our Closet

Hi ladies and gents I hope your day has been great. This is a post I have been meaning to do for a while. My closet "whoo hoo" this is where all the outfit magic happens. My closet has been a real hard task to organize since it has to fit me and my husbands clothes and with it being only a whopping 7ft by 7ft that is a hard task. When we bought our house it had absolutely no shelves  and a whole lot of holes on the walls in all the closets. We originally put up those wire shelves. Which that lasted for 1 year, until my hubby finally decided to redo it!! We went to lovely Ikea. Where we gave them our measurements and they gave us the configuration. We could only fit 4 organizers. We really should have thought it out more, but with an hour drive to Ikea and hubby having limited time we bought what they said would work best and started buying the inner organizing pieces. We then started putting it together the next day and over a week we had a lot of mishaps. Like putting together the most expensive cabinet wrong, and me completely breaking my closet piece (yep I tried putting it together myself and it collapsed on me, no I didn't get hurt but I did cry, my handy hubby was able to fix it) We had to make 2 more trips to Ikea for more shelves and other pieces. So with all that being said here is the finished product. I know it still looks a mess but i assure you it is all organized.

This was when we started we already ripped out right side shelves. This shows you just how small the closet is.

This is what it looks like when you open the doors and look in. You have my shoes storage on right and his shoe and more clothes and bags on left. Then corner storage is his clothes and my winter jackets. Leaving the big cabinet for all my clothes. Yes it is packed to the max. I do donate and package clothes for the homeless and less fortunate and I did get rid of half of my clothes to fit it in the new closet. They look a whole lot bigger at the store once you start to add clothes you say "oh no where are they going to all fit" ! What we did was use those small velvet hangers instead of big wooden ones we originally purchased....(Ladies you all know you have a lot of clothes lol so don't lie to yourselves. Ok?)
This is my jackets and his shirts in corner shelf.

This is mirror we purchased from ikea which is next to the big cabinet. This is the mirror I use to take my closet selfies. lol

Here is a collage of shoe cabinet. All my big purses are on top for now until I figure a better way to organize them.

Big picture of bottom my shoes.

Big picture of middle of my shoe cabinet. Purple bins hold all my sandals and purse accessories.

Top part of shoe cabinet.

Closer views of clothing storage.

My clothing cabinet is organized on top shelf all my sweaters. Then hanging  from left to right are dresses, maxi skirts, blazers, long sleeved shirts, stripe shirts, solid shirts, and then tank tops.

Middle of my clothing storage is my maxi dresses and winter leggings in that bin to left. Scarves in a smaller bin, skirts, shorts, peplums, and vests hanging to the right of it.
Bottom storage is a pull out rack that holds my jeans right now I have 3 to a row which has it over stuffed..
Under the pants are my winter boots, my belts and small clutches in the small containers on bottom.

This cabinet is on the left and holds part of my hubbies shoes, my small purses, big clutches, my boyfriend jeans, my plain t -shirts, my hubbies plain t-shirts, his button ups, and last at the top his fleece shirts for winter. With the storage of his dress shoes and my boots all along the top of the cabinets!!

Here are my inspiration and dream closet ideas from pinterest..

Hope you enjoyed this post.
God bless,
Lea
