Our Co-Sleeping Journey

Hello blogging world. I have been gone for a while. Since then I have had our beautiful baby girl who is now 3 months old. She arrived a couple days early and was born healthy. Although after a few days developed silent reflux, which turned into gerd.. This was a very hard time for us. She could not be layyed flat at all. We had to hold her upright for 30 minutes after a feeding. She had a couple episodes of projectile vomiting. We changed milk 4x and went through a lot of ups and downs. She would sleep in her rock a roo. Which I would wake up and check om her every 30 minutes. Through many prayers she has been symptom free for 2 weeks and we have decided to bring her crib into our room to co-sleep. I want her next to me not only for the reasons as to grab her quick if she does have a choking episode, but also because she sleeps way better with me next to her. I really don't care what people think about her being attached to me or hard to put to sleep on her own in the future. As long as she is sleeping and happy then it is worth it..

With all of this I decided to share our co-sleeping arrangements.  Now our room is relatively small and we have a antique chair we use for feeding. With a couple of rearrangements. This is what works best. We took off one side of her crib and attached it to the bed with multiple zip ties. We used zip ties because we might be selling our house and would like to be able to move crib quickly if we needed to. I also pushed her mattress closest to ours and put rolled up blankets in the back to keep it from having any gaps. We decided on doing this because we only plan on co sleeping for a month. You can use Styrofoam blocks from the dollar store. I also have a picture of my diapering bed station that I use to change her in our room. It has helped me because it has everything I will need for her.

My Maternity Looks/ The Pregnancy Blues

When I first started this blog I started it for fashion and fitness. Then it evolved into home decor, do it yourself projects and just telling you my life's moments and how Christ has helped me through. I am a beginner to this blogging thing and still haven't quite grasped all the basics like taking nice pictures, putting cool collages together with links, finding time to do weekly posts and blah blah blah. I don't have thousands of followers. But I do know I still love sharing with people to help even one person and I will continue to do so as best as I can. So thank you for following.

Now on to this post. For those of you who are new to my blog I am currently 6 months pregnant. While this is exciting and something we have wanted for a while. It was a long rough road getting here. I used to sit and think about being pregnant. I remember saying to myself all these things I was going to do. HAHA Right!  Some of the things were me thinking I was going to be such a fit pregnant woman and eat so healthy. HA My pregnancy started off rough and I was put on high risk. So there went the fit pregnant woman. Then the healthy eating went out the door when every darn healthy food made me sick. All I wanted was Burger King whoppers and Wendy's spicy chicken sandwiches, oh and pop tarts for breakfast. Then I would think I was going to be that cute pregnant blogger who had her hair and makeup done and was always dressed so cute. HAHAHA. Nope that sure as heck never happened. First of all my skin and hair went nuts during this pregnancy. I broke out like crazy and my hair is always greasy. I can barely mustard up enough energy to wash myself let alone do my hair, makeup and dress myself. Trying to find cute maternity clothes for a 5ft, 38h bust petite frame is more difficult then finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Seriously I wear the same 4 outfits on repeat. Yep and don't judge me cause this might be you. So while I sit here blogging to you in sweats and a full coverage bra that can wrap around my house I am going to share with you some of my some what, put together out fits. I do not have energy to put links to them all but if you message me I can share where to get them. They are in no specific order. My main go to is my maternity leggings , maternity tank and adding my kimonos over that to cover up. The majority of this is from H&M, Motherhood Maternity, and Forever 21.

I hope you enjoyed this post,

Whats In My Hospital Bag On A Budget

Hello blogging world. Sorry I haven't posted in forever, baby Faith our little girl has been giving us a hard time in the womb. I am now 6 months whoop whoop. I cant believe it.  Now I just hope the next 3 fly by.
Now if any of you are like me you like to be prepared. My hospital bag has been packed for about 2 weeks, and I keep adding and taking away from it every other day. I just felt like I was bringing too much stuff!!! But after a short 9 hour stint in the hospital for dehydration. I realized some things I really can not do with out. So I am going to go over what I feel you will need. Now I know there is plenty of other great blog posts about this so do more research.
I am not the best photographer so I will post what is exactly going in my bag. Then I will post the actually pictures to most of the new things I bought just for the stay and where to get them, because I am not the all cute type to be rocking a $80 pink sweat pants out fit and $40 flip flops. No offense to those who can afford it we just can't.
There are some private things in these pictures so beware.........
Now here is my bag all packed up. The actual bag is from Old Navy I bought it a while ago.

Now here are all my items I know it is hard to tell what they are because the are almost all black. Why are they all black you ask? Here is where it gets personal. You will most likely be bleeding like Niagara Falls out of your lady bits and will most likely be wearing depends or a huge pad. So I wear black so I can camouflage that huge sucker I will be wearing and also hide any leaks I may have. Trust me you might want to do the same. So I am going to list my items from bottom left on up. Not pictured yet is my cute $35 nursing gown I am getting from etsy. I will post a picture and link at the bottom for a similar one.

  1. Black Towel. I packed my biggest and most comfy one to keep me nice and warm. Because it is like blow zero in the hospital. And black to hide any stains.
  2. Black Robe. This robe is soft and light from Target for $22. Keeps you covered when guests come in to visit.
  3. Comfy Slippers. These are from target and are $9. I suggest comfy because your feet will be swollen and sore.
  4. Cheap Plastic Flip Flops. These are for when you shower. Trust me you don't know what germs are on those floors.
  5. Soft Warm Socks.  I suggest these because it's like below zero and your feet will get cold. Mine were from the dollar store.. Yep $1.....
  6. High Waisted Undies. These are Hanes from target I paid $8 for a 6 pack. I bought dark ones for any stains and high waisted in case you have to have a c-section. Be prepared you never know what will happen so I suggest the bigger the better.
  7. Support Underwear Or A Girdle. This pair is from Assets brand. I bought a long time ago it works to hold in your tummy and is high waisted as well. This isn't black because I bought to wear under dresses at the time. Trust me you will want a pair for when you go home to hold your pad in place and to keep you looking as cute as possible on the way home. You will most likely still look about 6 months pregnant and will want something to hold and support your tummy. I'm planning on buying a Belly Fit Girdle But will wait till next month to do so. Packing this one as a backup.
  8. Sleep/ Nursing Bras. I suggest you pack 2. Because even if your not breast feeding your boobs might leak. I'm packing a black and a white one. Only white one is pictured. Mine are from Target and are for busty women. I will post a link for these because they are comfy and inexpensive. And pack in the size you are wearing at 8-9 months because your boobs will stay the same or get bigger until a while after birth. I bought one size up and one at my size now.
  9. Going Home Outfit. For my going home outfit. I packed maternity black leggings that fit me at 6 months, a black long light flowy tee and a cute long kimono. Again in the black color scheme. Now my baby is a June baby so it will be hot but I'd rather be covered up, then in some light colored clothes that I end up leaking on for everyone to see.
  10. After Delivery Comfy Outfit. I packed a pair of my hubbies pajama pants and a cute sleep shirt from target. This I suggest because when you got to bed you will want to be comfortable and it makes bathroom runs easier. Plus its black again for when you guests to prevent leak and also to camouflage that huge pad/diaper you will be wearing. I coordinated this to go with my black robe for extra coverage.
  11. Nursing Tank. Mine is in black and was given to me from a friend. I suggest packing at least one if your going to be nursing if not don't even bother.
  12. Extra Bag. Mine was $6 form Old navy. You will most likely come out with more then you went in with. So an extra bag will help hubby bring everything down to the car!
  13. Depends. I packed about 5 of them just for the first day and overnight to help with any leaks. These are good to for when laying down because they cover you up the front and back. I suggest wearing under a pair of underwear for more support.
  14. Favorite Pads. Now I know the hospital supplies you with some but bring at least 8 of your favorite so you can wear them when guests are there and when you go home.
  15. Breast Pads. I packed about 12 in a plastic bag. You will want to pack even if your not breast feeding just because you will be leaking a little.
  16. Prenatal Vitamins. Now I packed a little in a bag instead of bringing a bottle it just saves room plus is cheaper if you forget to get the bottle when you leave. These are especially important if you will be breastfeeding because you will need more nutrients and vitamins then you needed when pregnant.
  17. Basic Essentials and Skin Care Items. I packed miniature of all of these to save room. Shampoo, Conditioner, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Q tips, hair ties, dry shampoo, lotion, chap stick, gum, face wash, face lotion, deodorant, hairspray, stool softener, cleaning wipes and a brush.
  18. Make Up. I packed the minimum on these. Face primer, face powder, highlighter, mascara. Feel free to pack whatever you may need or want.
  19. Pillow. Mines not pictured but I highly suggest because their beds are not the most comfortable and if you suffer from migraines like me, this is especially necessary as you will get a migraine if you do not have the proper support.
  20. Comfy Blanket. Mines not pictured because I am washing it as I write. Now I never brought a blanket for my other 2 delivery's but after this last stay at the hospital I highly recommend it. I like to be covered with a soft warm blanket not sheets. I just can not sleep unless I have a blanket. High Maintenance? Maybe, but I am telling you it will be worth it. Plus you just carried a child for 40 weeks and pushed them out your lady bits. You need a little TLC.....
  21. Breast Feeding Pillow. Mine  is not pictured because it is not bought yet. I highly suggest this as the beds their are not always the most comfortable and besides a newborn feeds for at least 45 min. you want to be comfortable.
  22. Breast Pump.  Mines not pictured but I have a Medela pump that my insurance provided. I suggest bringing to get used to it and to make sure you get any extra milk out of those boobies to help with engorgement.
I hope this has helped you first timers or if your like me and can not remember a lot form your previous delivery's, except that you will have a beautiful child to bring home.  Then this will help assist you in preparing.
Here are some of my new things I bought specifically for the hospital stay.

Our Gender Reveal

Hello blogging world. You can see why I have been missing for so long. I have had a rough first trimester of pregnancy. I have been on light activity which is basically bed rest because the bed has been my best friend!!!
We found out early via the blood test to see what the gender was. Since I am high risk and didn't know if I would carry full term we decided to find out early. So once I pass the 6 month mark my hubby can start doing the nursery.

I apologize we didn't take many pictures.
I wanted to post the video of the actual reveal but my hubs phone sucks and won't send it!!!

6 Annoying Pregnancy Symptoms Your Doctor Won't Tell You About!

Those of you who are pregnant or planning on getting pregnant. We tend to think we are going to experience the glow, have great skin and hair and then you get one of those awkward pregnancies where you get everything but that you want to cry! I wanted to share some of my weird annoying symptoms that I have experienced in my 3rd pregnancy with you.

  1. Over Salivating. Around week 7, I started producing a huge amount of spit. It was disgusting and annoying. I literally had a spit cup everywhere. One of my friends said she experienced it too. So I looked it up and yes it is a proven unusual symptom some women get. My relief for this was chewing gum!!!!!!
  2. Nasal Congestion. This started round week 7 also and is still going strong. I have a roll of toilet paper in my car and by my bed. When I am out, I literally have to go to the restroom every 15 minutes to blow my nose. I looked it up and it too is a proven unusual symptom.
  3. Greasy Hair. This started around week 6 and with a couple of things I have found has made it significantly better. I would wash my hair and literally 4 hours later it looked like I hadn't washed my hair in weeks. It was embarrassing. What I found works for me is a weekly coconut oil scalp treatment that I keep in over night and all day the next day. I know it sounds gross but after the second treatment. I went 4 days without washing and my hair was just a little greasy!!!
  4. Backne. We know hormones play a big roll in acne. Which during first 5 weeks I had a lot of acne on my face. But after week 6, I started breaking out on my chest, shoulders and back. It seemed like nothing I did helped. Until I started dry brushing my back and shoulders and then immediately after I shower, I apply coconut oil to all of my skin and give it a rub down with a towel. I noticed if I showered in the morning to make sure I cleaned my chest and shoulders before bed. I know sometimes I don't shower again at night. Don't judge me I was so sick I was lucky if I could get dressed let alone shower twice in a day. Also change your sheets and pillow cases daily if you have sensitive skin like me and a prone to this condition.
  5. Gas. Another fun symptom which is proven to be a annoying symptom. I am typically not a gassy person but during this pregnancy I am. I have used it to my advantage to get my husband back for all his awful surprise farts!
  6. Morning Sickness. This one we all know about. But did you know that it can last past your first trimester? Or did you know that it can happen at any time? Well if you didn't I'm here to let you know it can. I call it all day sickness. I was throwing up in the morning, afternoon, night, and even at 12 am & 4 am!! So fun. Plus it still comes and goes throughout my second trimester.  It can come on with no warning like when I threw up in my sink 3x or in the shower 4x. I have tried every wise tale and old school remedy. The one thing that has helped me is smelling rubbing alcohol. It has helped me many times. So if you are experiencing this symptom try smelling rubbing alcohol as soon as you feel sick.

Why Can't I get Pregnant? Trusting In Gods Timing.

Hello blogging world. I first want to start off with saying sorry I have been Mia for so long. Tons of stuff happened in this year. First was my oldest Sweet 15 that I planned and decorated myself. Then went the transmission on my car.  Then the head gasket on our back up vehicle blew the next day. I was car less for a week and majorly stressed with having to pay over $2000 for a transmission. With all this we had 3 major leaks in our roof in between all of this. Life was a bit tough and we were under major attack.

So in this post I want to talk about something I went through and know the Lord wanted me to share because I know there are other woman going through this too. Please excuse any grammatical errors as English was not my favorite subject!!
Over 2 years ago I was very happy and and on fire for the Lord. I read my bible everyday and God was showing me so many things. I was starting a ministry of handing out gently used clothes to people I would see out on the streets. I was working as a Personal trainer doing what I am passionate about (fitness)and I was in the best shape of my life and just plain "Happy". I was content with my 2 children and we were not planning on having anymore.
Then I stumbled on a picture of a nursery on Pinterest and had a thought put in my heart to have another baby. I spoke with my husband that night and he said sure lets start trying. We discussed where the nursery would go and I started planning the decor
( because I am ocd and love planning ahead). A week later I went in for my annual Pap. The doctor called me a week later and told me to come in asap. I remember sitting in the office surrounded by woman who just delivered and seeing all the new born babies. I went in and the Doctor sat me down in her office. Which I knew was not good news. She then said "I had stage 3 cervical squamous cancer and need to have a Leep done asap." Her next question was "were you wanting any more kids?" I answered her 'yes" she then said "stop trying because I need this procedure asap." I asked her "how long will it be before I can get pregnant? " She said "probably at least 6-8 months." So I scheduled the surgery for a month after that appointment. I got in my car and just broke down in tears. My kids were in the car and they just stayed quiet as if they knew what happened.  So for that month I kept myself busy decorating and painting my house. Every time we would go out to buy stuff for the house the enemy would just taunt me with babies everywhere. So much that I had to leave numerous stores to break down in my car.
I had the surgery a month later with a very hard recovery and during the recovery I stopped going to Church and was bed ridden for 2 weeks during this time I began to lose Faith. I went in for my follow up Pap 4 months later to find out I still had stage 2 cells. I still could not try to get pregnant and needed another procedure in about 6 months.
Over a year passed and still no surgery was set up. So me and my husband started trying again to get pregnant because I was tired of waiting on the surgery. After 4 months of no baby and of seeing over 6 people I knew get pregnant or have delivered a baby. I finally broke and went to another doctor for a second opinion.
On that visit I explained everything to her. She did the Pap and the other test I needed at that very first visit.
When she was done. I could see in her eyes something was wrong but she said she will call me with results. She called me a week later to come in and talk with her. Again this visit was in an office and I knew something was wrong. She said "I had stage 3 squamous cells all over the top and bottom of my cervix and needed another surgery asap to see how far it has spread" and again no babies and if I wanted to try later it would be harder to get and to stay pregnant.. Again I went to my car with my kids and broke down crying. I went home and stayed in bed for a week and kept saying in my head "why God, why did you put this in my heart to have another baby?" My daughters sweet 15 was the following week and all I could think about was not seeing her walk down the isle at her wedding forget getting pregnant I didn't know if I was going to live, had this had spread to my lymphnodes.
After all this over 2 years have passed no baby, 2 surgeries, no more church, no more praying. I was angry with God. Every time my husband would try to talk to me about God I would just ignore him. I would remember the pain I was feeling from not being healed, to not being able to get pregnant.  I went in for my results after the surgery. The doctor told me she was aggressive and the results showed no more cancer cells.  I was still at this point angry with God. My husband begged me to go with him to church and I did and A girl from the choir came down off the stage in the middle of the song and hugged me and told me God loves me and to put my faith in him. Being angry still I wasn't affected by it on the outside but I felt a heat come over me and my heart was beating. That night I started praying to God before bed. My husband asked me if I wanted to start trying again? I said sure so we did. After 3 months of trying. I finally put my trust in God and left the control in his hands. I told my husband I wanted to stop trying and was content with not getting pregnant. Finally I wasn't angry with God. We found out a month later. I was pregnant!! My due date was an exact year after I had my last surgery (the surgery that I was the most angry with God about). This was God showing me he was in control this whole time and just wanted me to have faith in his timing.
I just want to say if you are going through this too it's OK to get angry, just do not lose your Faith in God. He is in control and just wants us to put our Faith in him and his timing.  You are not alone. I too cried myself to sleep many nights. I too cried many times in the shower so no one would hear me.
My trial was having Faith in God and his timing. So if we have a girl her name will be Faith.

Thank you for visiting.

Some Master Bedroom and Bathroom Decor On a Budget Update

Hello ladies, Its been a while since I have done any blogging. Life has been a bit on the crazy cycle lately. I have been tackling health issues and trying to redecorate our master bedroom. It has been a bit of a mission for me and is still no where near complete. Here is some info on our rooms size and layout. Our room is 14 ft  wide by 12 ft long, and on the 14 ft side we have our door that takes up room and on the other 14 ft side we have a small long window that sits near the corner of the wall. Then on the 12 ft side there is a huge window , and on the other 12 ft side is the entrance to our closet and bathroom so that opening allows us to use absolutely no wall space. It leaves us really no room to center our king bed. So over the years I have been moving around furniture to see what works best. So far I have come up with a good one but I am not fully finished with it, but I did want to show you some progress pictures. Some new things I am adding is putting up curtains on the bed wall to give the illusion of 2 windows and to make it look bigger. I moved up the curtain rod on the big window too and bought longer darker curtains.
Also since being so overwhelmed with life and our room. I haven't really posted any outfit pictures and really have decided to stop for a while and focus on decorating and diy stuff for now. I hope you understand. We are really thinking of selling our house and getting a bigger one without an Hoa!! So I am really trying to tackle all of our incomplete projects and staging the house to sell.

List of things needed for the room
